you have the right jackplate, thats a good start, and also a decent power plant.. should see 70 ish, maybe more or less with a good setup. do you have a low water pickup, solid motor mounts, and dual cable steering?

Hi guys ....I'm new here and i have a new to me 1977 Viper I have put a 1985 140hp Johnny with a small dia gear case (13 spline) Raker 24P
I have a 5" set back manual jack plate. I'm looking for some set up recommendations and any predicted speeds i should see ? I have a V6 Merc option to put on this boat later but want to test the 140 out first.
Any suggestions would be helpful Thanks

Mercrazy
