2003 Dodge 2500. Bought cheap and did our thing to it. (Washington rig)

Alaska tow rig.

1979 Ford F-150. I made the aluminum rollbar from salvaged commercial fishing boat trolling poles (3") and some 90* cast fittings.

Before the Ford, we used Caprices 1965 GMC 3/4 T 4x4.

Free Toyota from my renter. Had the month of December (2016) with no big projects so....

This is after I repaired the fender,

installed 3" suspension lift and 3" body lift. $400 wheel and tire package stuck out 4" sooooooooooo....

Hot glue 2" urethane foam, fiberglass, body work........

So, 30 days later and $1200.00 investment, I had a pretty cool purple 4-runner.
The flares, hood scoop, roof visor, running boards were fiberglass and the bumpers were made from scrap 1/8" plate.
My own little arctic truck.

I drove it 4 months then sold it for $6500.00. Yes, I towed with it.

My 2016 Hyundai Tucson AWD isn't anything special.

But my dream rig would be this:

Sadly, Toyota is no longer producing the FJ Cruiser, so I'll have to find a used one eventually.
4.0L - V6 - towing capacity of 4700 pounds, although Toyota is known to be conservative in their numbers for safety/liability reasons.

Am I the only one in here with a vehicle that doubles as a tow rig for my boat(s)?

Lets see them rigs you use to tow around your boat(s).

I had (I still have it actually) a 1997 GMC Suburban for over 10 years with almost 300,000 miles on it and about a year ago it pretty much bit the dust. Lost oil pressure in it and it developed a upper motor knock and after a bottom end rebuild that fixed it only a tiny bit and only going very short distances with it and nursing it along with straight 50 weight oil with some Lucas to thicken it up even more I finally parked it 2 weeks ago and got me something newer and much much nicer and I couldnt pass it up for the price I paid for it. Here is my latest acquisition. Its a 2004 Chevy Tahoe LT with a 5.3 and the full time AWD with all the goodies. I mean EVERYTHING! It pretty much has the full Yukon package. Heated seats, flip down DVD in the rear, 3rd row seat, electric everything. Im spoiled in this darn thing. It has 200,000 VERY VERY well taken care of miles. It has one tiny rust spot on the end of the hood about half the size of a dime, other than that, completely rust free! And it gets about 5mpg better than my suburban did. I just wanted to show it off a little bit.
