Been a ski, pleasure, speed boat owner for 40+ years. Have owned a couple Checkmates, currently have a 1991 Pulse 185 that is a time capsule, 100% original the way it was rigged in 1990.
Made some modifications trying to get the performance I was looking for but just couldn't get there. Changed course and stopped trying to build HP to push a heavy boat and went to a lighter boat. Recently picked up a 1989 Viper.....this winter she will get a complete makeover, floor, core and transom and hopefully be better than new next year.
