The best paint I have ever used is Interlux Interthane Plus High Perfomance two part polyuerthane. No worries leaving the boat in the water with this stuff. A very durable finish. My son and I built a class C racing runabout and used the paint on that project with great results. The paint is very user friendly and is applied with a foam roller and tipped out with a 3"china bristle brush. When it dries it looks like a sweet spray job with a wet look shine. You can go to father and son project on glen L boats website to look at the boat. Good luck on the Hydro!

If left in the water I was told to go with gel or awl grip, imron is another option but not too many people will spray large areas because it's so toxic.

Fella's,

My son and I are getting close to paint on a 1973 hydroplane Hull and I am looking for advice. Hull is fiberglass and the boat is going to see moderate time in the water. Auto paint? When I figure this thing out, I will post photos.
