No need to split the hull what so ever unless you absolutely do not want to cut the splashwell to get the transom out. Myself personally I would cut the splashwell out and deck it over but thats just me. Maybe also depend on the condition of the gel coat if it was in really good shape or not. Either way, I would prob just cut it out and deck it over. But yeah, no need to split the hull at all to replace the core and transom. I bet maybe 10% of the people that rebuild these ever split the hull. Post some pictures so we can take a look.

Not sure if I will have time to fix it. It may be worth more parting it out. This viper has everything original... It is a blue and gold metal flake. Has the windshield- blue front and rear seats. .Side hydrostream emblems. Original dash components..... If i was to tackle this transome and core job, via splitting the top from the bottom, how would I reassemble them, since the rub rail rivites are inbetween the top and bottom half.

FIX IT!!!!! :D  Unless the core has been replaced you can bet if your transom is shot, so is the core so might as well do it all. And like Cody said in your other post, post some pictures. Trust me, if you do fix it, it will be WAY better then it ever was from the factory and it will probably outlast you and you will have one amazing fast little hot rod! Its always funny to see these little vipers smoke the big boats that think they are all that all while you have half the power they do hanging off the back.
