I am recoring a 1991 Canadian Edition V-King. The old core was not laid out as expected.
There was a layer of Balsa in the pad. This strip is 8' long (from the drain hole) and is the same length as the stringers and the other two strips of core. The other 2 strips are located outboard and separate from the core in the pad. They are separated from the pad by about 4". These strips are about 8" wide. All the basla appeared to be 1/2".
In summary, 3 strips of core, each about 8" wide, 4" between strips, strips and stringers 8 feet long.
Maybe this matters. There is no foot well. Floor was flat right up to the block of wood in the bow. No bulkheads or stringers ahead of the seats.
The core layout seems very minimal. Only 16 square feet of balsa.
Could this be original? Possibly a recore?
