You can stand on the cavitation plate while it sits in the water to give you a idea how it will sit at rest.

300xs on a 20ft Vantage???

by 87vantage » Feb 14, 2011 1:40 pm

I am trying to figure out if a 250 or 300xs will give me any unforseen problems from handling or the extra weight issues? I was told to call Hydrostream before I bought a motor to see what they say but I figure theres as much knowledge here as anywhere.... I am going from a 200 promax to the bigger cubic inch. It has a 12 inch jack plate on it now with a beefed up transom. I thinks it a little more than a 100 pounds between the motors but thats a lot sitting on the transom. So what do you think??? Should I do it....
