Hi Russf, thanks- I had a family issue last year and with the hurricane taking out part of my house and the blizzard I havent be able to breath- the funny thing is during the hurricane my boat on the trailer down by the road floated away- as did my jetski's. So now that winter is almost over I figured lets get the boat ready now before I have to start repairing the house- I am going to need some sort of fun other than rebuilding part of the house and the landscape. Yeah the weight of the 150 is about 415 and the 200 I think is 497. is the 200 a 2.5 liter like the 150. Boy I cant wait!! I hope the boat can hold the motor with out sinking when it comes off the trailer.

Hi, i have a 2000 150 merc xr6 on my 72 viper with a 7 inch set back jack plate- now I have been told by many on here that it should have no more than a 5 inch set back- any how I aquired a 2002 merc optimax 200 what do you guys think about this motor ? I was going to put it on my boat with a new jack plate only 4 inch set back. I got the motor because it has very low hours and its fuel injected. I thought that would be better than carbs. Are the lower units the same (can they be switched- I had BPR put a low water pick up on it) they are both 20 inch shafts. Any advice or info would be great. Thanks :boating:
