Re: 83 V-King (Bruiser) Restoration

I have an Inline 6. I am not sure how hard it is to find a lower unit with low water pick ups for this model motor. i decided to MOD my own. i haven't tried it yet, but it works perfect in the bucket. Tap and Die the inlet holes in the lower unit. used high strength permatex thread locker and plugge...

Re: 83 V-King (Bruiser) Restoration

I missed the entire 2018 boating season because on my last stream run of 2017, i had water intrusion in cyl #3 and found that i cracked the head. 6000 rpm on an inline 6 with no mods on the lower unit and no water pressure gauge = to much trim and lack of water in the engine. The good thing about hy...

Re: 83 V-King (Bruiser) Restoration

http://i64.tinypic.com/53v91u.jpg It was time to tackle the tower of power. First things first. carbs need to be rebuilt. As i got into the engine i realized nothing had been replaced. I believe this motor sat for a very long time.. that's ok because everything is about to be replaced. plugs starte...

Re: 83 V-King (Bruiser) Restoration

I run on Winnipesaukee and Squam. early morning's are the best because of how calm the water is. Now that the boat is buffed, I really started to crank with progress. I have already purchased everything i needed before hand so that i did not waste anytime waiting for a part to come in the mail. the ...

http://i65.tinypic.com/4r5oqw.jpg It was raining and windy so there was pieces of tree that blew in the boat. Its fine because i needed to wash away all the fiber dust that was left laying around. http://i63.tinypic.com/jjr5vo.jpg i kept the sticker on the transom plate because i was still working....

Re: 83 V-King (Bruiser) Restoration

Once the seats have been fitted and measured i took everything back out and prepped the floor for black gel coat. i chose to do this because it just adds an extra layer of protection. the floor all they way back to the transom was covered in gel coat. the area were i have been doing all of fiberglas...

Finally the floor is glassed in!! its been months walking around the hull and trying to be careful. now i can jump in the boat! the next project is the front seat boxes. because of the seats i chose, i was trying for along time to figure out how i will mount them. since there is very little room any...
