Not sure where you are talking about people putting more in than you took out then??????

Core under float boxes......between floor register and stringer...over pad...and forward of dash couple of feet

factory viper/vector had core on entire hull bottom. not saying its neccessary but thats what ive seen from factory. alot of people are getting away with less or none at all(just stringer setups) with success. did yours have float boxes under gunwales??? did yours have floor in it?? or stringers exp...

try a spackling knife on the windshield. lay shield on table rail side down......locate the clips inside the rail..... tap spackling knife in between rail and shield on top of clips until the teeth break off or the knife wedges in between allowing you to slide the shield up and out. start at one end...
