My New Project arrived July 4th!
My new project arrived July 4th at 5:00 am!!! This is my biggest, coolest project to date! It's a 1984 Checkmate 2800SX outboard. The boat was originally rigged with tripples off the transom and then converted to twin on Gil Brackets.

What are you running for power. A 30 pitch prop seems awful high unless you're running big horsepower (260+). What rpm are you turning with the 30?? idvette, I think you'll gain confidence with more seat time. The 6" setback will definitly help your top end speed numbers. Tight steering and solid motor mounts will help eliminate some of the chine walking...along with more seat time. You can move your battery to the bow; just make sure that ...
