Re: Need Viper advice

whoa there, don't jack the motor up just yet, you need to make sure that thing has cooling water to the motor. you can only run the propshaft even with the pad if you have a low water pickup. Do you have a lwp?

Re: Foam core installation

I have found that most guys on this particular forum tend to go balsa after doing some reading about the core materials. It seems the balsa can be a very good core material when laid up carefully. I am also interested in the foam core, but I found it more affordable to do the balsa. As far as vacuum...

Re: another new guy from Minnesota

Re: 79 Vector rebuild

I used the back of a hammer to dig most of the foam out, you can get closer with a putty knife when you get down thinner.. then a wire brush if you want to get more out.. if you keep the hull supported I dont see why it would be a problem leaving it through the winter. Re: Vector recore - how much core needed

I belive I ordered 10 sheets for my viper, had two left over when core was done in the bottom. I think I am going to reinforce the deck with the rest, or build something else for the hull support with it

Re: new member with a 78 viper

Will probably cover up the top holes. that will simplify using a hose at home when running the motor. Wondering about water pump kits and thermostats? where is a good place to buy? anything else I should know? Is there an easy way to rig up new controls to it?
