Re: New member 81 vamp
I'll let Hippie chime in on this one as he's familiar with the Vamp's structural construction and I'm not.

Re: Vision hulls
Visions are basically 16 foot VKings, with a wider flat pad (not concave like the Vector/Viper). Same hull design otherwise. There was a guy on my lake with a Vision/2.4 200 Merc. That thing flew...but he probably had it set up right and was an experienced pilot. Like all Streams, core/transom/strin...

Re: New member 81 vamp
Welcome to the forum.
Are you keeping your Vamp and looking for a second Hydrostream?
Hippie loves Vamps. He's gonna want to see pics so get some up before he complains.

Re: Transom exterior skin after transom removal
It should go back to being flat after putting the new transom in. When you clamp it, a few things to consider. Use as many clamps as you can. Always start at one end and clamp progressively to the other, and bottom first then the top. This way it helps move air pockets up and out. Don't place the cl...

Re: 1980 Viper Rebirth
Sunday May 13th 2018: Started laying the 1708 down on the hull. I got the port side done the hard way....folding and wetting out, folding and wetting out, etc. I tried a different method on the starboard side, and I have to say it was much easier. With my pre-cut piece laying mat side down, I slath...

Firefox is the only good browser. Internet Exploder sucks, and Chrome just sends all your data to Google.

Re: 1980 Viper Rebirth
Well I had a week off work, but since the house I'm in is for sale, we had viewings and stuff scheduled that interrupted my working time throughout the week. Suffice to say I didn't get as much done as I hoped, but its a start. First I patched the holes in the pad with some CSM. http://www.adadk.ca/...

Re: 84 Valero recore!
Just add extra bunks under the boat on the trailer....no sense building a jig unless you got money to burn on lumber. And keeping it on the trailer makes it mobile...you can move it in and out of your garage if necessary.

Re: Supply list
What Hippie said...you'll need more. I've already used 3 gallons of resin just to add a single layer of 1.5oz chopped strand mat to the entire hull section of my 15'ft Viper. I bought 20 yards of 50" wide mat and more than half was used so far. 10 yards = 30 ft. And since you're only getting th...

Re: New to the forum and new to hydrostream boats
Then most likely the floor was removed at one time and this stuff laid in. I had rectangular foam pieces on both side of my keelbox too in my Viper, but they were gold in colour. Or it is original and just happened to be green. Regardless, get rid of it, and dont replace it. Foam just traps water.
