Trim guage wiring HELP me

Post: # 18110Post vulture62 »

I have an 1985 Vulture with a 1985 200 Mercury on it.
The prior owner removed the trim guage and installed a water pressure guage.
Here is my challenge
it has one brown with tracer
black
and two purple

can anyone tell me how to connect to this Gaffrig guage?
I also need to know where is it connected on motor?
If you can send photo I would asppreciate.
I have spent many hours under dash and no luck
I can get power / light on, but that is it.
Thanks Eric

it should have a trim sender unit mounted on port side of motor. might have to trim all the way up to see it.

I think gauge should have terminals for: sender, ground, ignition, 12v constant for light.

This will identify the gauge wiring

Brown with white tracer is the sender
Black is ground
Purple is 12V from the ignition switch
