Need to replace my jack plate on the valero trying to decide whether to get a manual or hydraulic I know the less weight in the back of my virage the better I am assuming the same to be true fo my valero once I get manual set where I want it I shouldn't need to move it I just think the extra weight of pump and cylinder ma be unnecessary also wondering how much setback would work best for a valero any opinions will be greatly appreciated

Re: Hydraulic vs manual jack plate
I think its all personal preference. Adjusting the height on the fly would be nice for different boating situations. I plan to pretty much go fast and thats about it. I dont plan on pulling a bunch of tubers or anything so once I get it dialed in, I will probably never touch it again. Just my thinking anyways. I guess I will find out when I get this thing on the water. lol
