Welcome to the site.

Do you have a low water pickup?
I would pin the bearing carrier if you run a surfaced prop.
If not get a water pressure gauge and go up in 1/4" increments until you start to loose water pressure, then go down 1/4".

If you do have a nosecone start at 1" below the pad and work your way up.

There isn't a magic setting for all hulls as they will be different weights in different places so it's a trial and error. A gps unit will also help because after a certain height your prop will start to slip and you will loose speed.
