How much setback do I need

I have 79 V-King stock 200 efi .I have 7 in now is that too much.

So your prop shaft is 1/4 " above the pad. If so that sounds about right, I'm no expert on v-king set up but someone else will be along.

well i was told 5'' was the best way to go .but i like very much .I turn 28 yama drag with 1.87 7000 it runs well.

What gps speed are you running, at 10% slip it should be 89 mph.
