Sorry so long getting back on here, i'm seeing high 70's low 80's depending on weight, water you know the deal. I have no plate mods and i'm running a teleflex steering system and I love it. But, its one of those preference deals. Not sure on cost put it together over time.

Thanks vector pilot . Takening this week to play with boat going to try it without the dole-fins again to see how it handles . A few people have said there are better models than this on the market to help with planning /porpoising. I'm still in the early stages of the learning curve and with the original single cable steering 68 is interesting to say the least. I know where the improvements need to start. Thanks again, the more info the better .

Try a allison style plate, I like it on my vegas and another guy in our club has one on his vector. They are wider and don't stick out the back any.

Hey 77viper/Samari where did you buy yours from and how much? Do you have a pic ?I think I have seen an allison style before on the back of a Viking it was carbon fiber. Looked really good. I was told they go for about 150.00

Yeah its all in preference. I have one that I handmade from stainless steel. Doesn't stick out the back at all and edges are bent down. Got the design from a buddy that praised it. It works great but I dont run it all the time. With a single cable system I bet 68 is a handful. If you can get the dual setup onboard you wont believe the difference. But your headed in the right direction. And since you know where to start your already ahead of the game. Good luck on the tinkering and feel free to shoot any questions.
