Purchased a 26 Raker today. Question?
Today I found a 26 Raker and perchased it from a craigslist ad
http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/boa/2657230831.html
Question: Would any of these other props he is selling be something I would be interested in? He states them as all 3 blade props but I see some 4 blade props. Can anyone tell me wether the 4 blade props would be good for my boat. I might want to work a deal with him. Bill

A 4 blade prop will have more pulling power but less top end, they will hold corners better.

Re: Purchased a 26 Raker today. Question?
I was using a 28 Raker before Russ F. sold me a 27SRX. One thing I can say is DON'T have any cup added to that prop. It will kill your RPM'S. The Srx, on the other hand, responded well to DAH propeller adding cup. I saw about another 3-4 mph. Overall the difference between the Raker and the SRX was about 7 to 10 MPH on the top end, depending on the conditions. You probably won't pull up a skier with it, like you could with the Raker, but the performance is miles apart. While the Raker is not a bad prop, you probably need something a little more performance minded for speed. Chet (77VIPER) could probably point you in the right direction, or if your looking, try Scream&Fly.

Yeah - I'll be keeping the 23 fr skiing. Might even pick up a 21 next summer.

The 26 Raker worked great. rps down to 5500 at top end and a little more speed. Should save some gas as well. Bill

Aw, com on Hippie, we all wish we had enough motor to turn a 62 pitch. Probably just a Freudian slip? I know you're dreaming of that Vulture with an 1800 HP outboard! We all knew what you meant, but I couldn't resist.Hippie459MN wrote: Fixed. lol I got typing a bit to fast I think.
