Last run of the season this year two weeks ago, good conditions, cool weather little chop, 87mph @6600rpm with 12" setback and a 28p mazco re4. going to move the front seats back a bit and some weight around as well as blueprint the rear section of the hull next spring, 90 might be doable with the excell after all. :boating:

hey steve,
I know this is an old post but im looking at buying a new prop for spring for my ae..I love the four blades and im liking the mazco re4, I see it worked well for you, my question is do you think my 3.3 vmax 225 can pull a 30 re4, or get the 28..do you think your excel could pull the 30 re4
thanks, matt

I like the 28 for my Excell, it should be just under 7000 rpm this summer, witch is where the motor seems happy. I would think the 3.3 litre should pull a 30 as you will want to be around 5700? any good prop shop can pitch it up or down two sizes. that prop, and the OMC SRX are the best I have tried.I bought the Mazco off of scream and fly btw.

I ran last weekend at west lake, new 2014 setup: front seats moved back 8" from last year 14" setback 1" above the pad with a mercury lighining 30p et 6900 rpm for 90 mph. handled great with the et prop, tons of acceleration as well.

When you have the time Steve, maybe post some current pictures here. May or may not help guys out with future setup, but it's just so good looking you should post some up anyways.

Normally these hulls like a lot more power, to have yours running the way it is with somewhat modest power is quite the accomplishment!

James motor is still very tempting at 347 hp lol the old excell is running great though.

This is a fantastic boat overall. Idles quiet and smooth, gets on plane fairly easily, no strange quirks as you build speed, it just works. And you could eat off any surface, it's that clean! Congrats on the 90mph Steve! Well done!
