Re: expecting to much?
Job number one. Remove that freakin jack plate, and NEVER let your boat see it again. That poor old motor ain't got a chance with that thing
Does it have power trim?

Jack plate is for the 150 which is going on in 2 weeks. Yes the 110 has power trim.

Re: expecting to much?
Did you say you have 8" of setback?

Re: expecting to much?
Yep on the 110. It didn't have power trim and I had a trim set up which wouldn't fir so we machined a plate to mount to it which gives me 8" of set back figuring that might help. I'm more concerned with a prop choice for the 150 magnum when that goes on.

Re: expecting to much?
You murdered the 110 with the setback, but if you're changing the motor soon, not much point in flogging that one.
The 150 will like a 28 Chopper, and will only need a little setback (2-4")

Re: expecting to much?
So the 4" jack plate will be good just need to find a prop. Yeah I figured it really wasn't worth spending alot of time on the 110. It got me going when I had no motor. Might keep as a spare or sell and keep an eye out for something newer for a spare.thanks for the prop info

Re: expecting to much?
That prop advice also assumes a 2:1 gear

I don't have a book on the mariner. Its a magnum II how would I figure out without a manual? It came
off a maxum which weighs a ton compared to the vector and guy said he got 60mph out of it. I've known him for a long time and he does exaggerate.

Re: expecting to much?
Mark the propshaft, rotate the flywheel twice, the propshaft should rotate exactly one turn if it's 2:1.
