I am new at this I am wondering if any body knows, can I run a 15" mid section with a 6" turbo jack plate on a 1989 hydrostream vking yt , wondering if motor would be to high above pad. The motor I am running has a 20" mid section now and running 2.5" below pad , I have 1" on turbo jack plate down to play with, 5" difference between the 15"and the 20"mid section. I want to run this other motor but I am not sure.

20in should be fine. I would love to run a 15 on mine but im just shorts of funds. The 15 will be perfect height on the transome. I run mine 1in above the pad on a 8in setback 20in mid

Yeah, definitely get the 15" mid hooked up. Your boat will enjoy better stability with the engine lower. Most guys run the propshaft 1/2" to 1" above the pad.
But you'll definitely need low-water pickups if you don't already have them.
