Welcome to the forum!
Once you get a chance post some pics.

I'm not sure on that setup. There is a guy in our club with a new vegas and a 300 I can ask him but it might take a while.

I'm not sure I would spend the $ on a lightened flywheel. You probubly won't notice any gains in performance and it's not spinning high enough rps's to worry about the upper crank bearing. This is just my opinion.

The hydrofoil will help get up on plane quicker and stay there at a lower speed.

I would bump the limiter to 7000 if I were to do it 300 rpm isn't that much.

THE LIGHTEND FLY WHEEL WILL GIVE ME HUGH GAINS IN MIDRANGE ACCELERATION.ALSO LET THE MOTOR SPIN UP FASTER.ALL THE MERC REPS SAY THAT MOTOR SHOULD HAVE THIS FLYWHEEL FROM THE START BUT THEY PUT ON THE STANDERD FLYWHEEL.SIMION MOTORSPORTS AND PHILLIP AT PK MARINE BOTH SUGGEST IT!
WITH THE FLYWHEEL BEING LIGHTEDED THE MOTOR WILL NEED TO HAVE THE REV LIMITER BUMPED TO 6800 THIS WILL STILL KEEP THE MOTOR DEPENDABLE.DO I RUN A 30 OR 32?

Someone in my area ran a cleaver which took him to the mid 90's in his vegas with a bp. I think he has more set back though.

I've heard of a few guys running over 100mph with a Vegas XT....but I think they get pretty flighty above that speed. I don't think the Vegas's were really designed for those kind of speeds. If you are wanting to just get out and run big top end numbers, you would be miles ahead to sell the Vegas and get something like a light STV or Allison. There are guys running well over 100 with a lot less motor than what you've got on the back of your Vegas.

I'd run the 28 up to the new limiter and see how it handles. Then go prop shopping from there. It should easily pull a 30 to the new limiter, so you'll more than likely end up going with a 32. The new Vegas is a sweet boat.

I have the same boat and motor with a 30 Lighting it will go past 95 but it will not handle. The trick is to run a Pro ET 4 blade, the boat is much more stable. I bought a 28 Pro ET and have seen 97 GPS at 6500 RPM. The boats good for more as scream and fly had a guy clocked at 103. I don't know if the 103MPH run was a Simons motor but if I wanted to go faster I would try a 30-32 pitch Pro ET. Keep the shiny side up .
