I don't think you will see a dramatic increase in speed being it's not too far off now. But with a combination of things you will hit 80.
What rpm's are you seeing with your props?
A cheap hp increase is in cutting your heads to 35cc and bumping timing up to 25 degrees, you will need to run fresh 91 octane gas.

Right now with the 24 Trophy I am turning 6800-6900. The results have varied some with the other props. The 26 re3 was turning 6500 or so. 6800 with one Yamaha drag in a 24" 7200 with another. But mostly I just lose topend with all the other props I have tried. I gain lots of bottom end but I am not drag racing, just looking for that elusive larger number. Thanks, Dwayne.

I got my 6" set back plates installed between the transom and hydraulic plate. Going to stop tomorrow on the way to the river and level boat and propshaft so I can adjust my height. Hopefully it help the boat free up and run a little better. I should have something to post in a day or two on the outcome of the longer offset. Dwayne.

Well, I made it to the river today and did a little testing. The extensions didn't increase my speed yet, but did make the boat drive better. Now to more or less start over with props and setup.

Bumping this up. What did you end up doing for setup and prop?

Hey everyone, figure ill add to this thread instead of starting a new one, I just sold my viper this past weekend and picked up a Vulture (I'd like to see my 40's). Took the boat out and it drives like a dream compared to "the death trap" as my friends liked to call it. The boat has a 77' 200 johnson on it right now and plan to keep it for a few years and build up a nice 2.5 for it. In the meantime I'd like to get everything I can out of what I have. I would like to get the motor moved back before I start messing with height and prop combos but not sure where to start. I have read everything from 6" to 12+"' for these boats. Just looking for a place to start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

10" minimum is what I've found in all my research
