Not much of an update because of the on and off rain today but I got bored and pealed the two stripes off the cowl of my motor and it looks SOOOO much better! I was going to pull the emblem off and make some decals for it but decided I like the emblems a lot more now with the stripes gone so they will be staying!

This is before...

Well, my new seats showed up. Actually the shells showed up this past week but the covers showed up today so I tossed a cover on one to see how they look. They are about an inch and a half taller than the ones I have sitting in the boat right now but they are narrower so the look a lot taller. I'll hopefully get them mounted this week. I am going to order the thick seat foam for them and that should make them super comfortable. I'm very happy with them so far. And yes, there is two of them.

Here is a link to the seat I ended up going with except I got them on Amazon. With tax it worked out to be about the same price as the place I posted in the post.

Hopefully I will have a good update tomorrow too.

After that, it rained for about 36 hours straight so no more work was done, but at least that was FINALLY done!

And today (Monday) after work I got the ambition to finally get the rub rail put on now that I finally got the rear of the boat painted, enough, to get it on.

Got it all on and what a huge difference it makes. The picture doesn't do it justice at all.

Looking good Kevin!!!
One trick I do is to hit the holes in the transom with a countersink bit to create a bevel in the gelcoat. This little void holds a little extra sealant. Seemed like a cool idea when I thought of it and do it all the time now.

Ohhh and please,...for the love of God,......don't use 5200!!
Your not trying to glue the motor on the boat. Thats what the bolts are for. Good ole' 100% silicone is perfect and you can get it off when you pull that motor. Which you will.......... because it's an Evinrude. LOL.... Kidding....

Great idea on using a countersink bit on the holes. I will absolutely do that.

As for the 5200, I will not be using that. Haha Going to use 4200 that way if I ever need to take the jack plate off, I can. LoL
