Oh yeah, I have considered it but sadly I am having to work on a major budget. For a full hydraulic with hoses and every thing im looking at $1200-1500 when all said and done and right now, thats not in the cards. Child support paying single dad problems. haha

Cables are $424 and some change with free shipping on Amazon. A few bucks a week and I should have everything by spring. I have a nice pile of parts going on already. Just a matter of putting it all back together. :)

Nope. Its close but sadly with the great Minnesota Weather and my lack of a garage, its all covered up for the winter. Im still gathering parts and what not and I have a HUGE pile going on so come spring, its game on!

My biggest hold up is my steering, or my lack of I should say. That is my biggest set back. I need new cables as mine are stiff as heck and takes a lot to move them and im not gonna mess around with trying to lube them or junk. And my pocketbook is to thin to buy a full hydraulic at the moment so going with the cheapest of the two.

Did you think about posting an ad at S&F for a set of good used cables?
Worth a try.

I do understand the single Dad and a thin wallet....did that for a long long time myself.
If it will help, I have an older model good rebuildable SeaStar cylinder that I can make you a very good deal ;) on if interested?

It needs a new o-ring kit. I believe rebuild (o-ring kits) parts are still available on eBay. You would still need a helm and hoses. I used the old style Hynautic helm with the pressurized remote reservoir. But it will work with any helm I believe.

PM me or call/text me 4two34two91249 if interested, otherwise it's headed for eBay.

I used it on a CC open fish years ago. I had a pair of 225 Merc's ( old 2.4 blocks ) on a 22' North American (20 years ago), and before that on the same boat with a 225 Yamahammer. So it should work for your stream.

I have it set to not allow attachments via PM. Probably going to change that.

You know what model number that is off hand? Was going to look up the specs to make sure it's enough for my 235 Evenrude.

I'll look it up this weekend and post back.
Doing a road trip today so it will be tomorrow at best.

I had it on a twin 225 merc setup, albeit it was counter rotating LU's. And before that a 225 Yamaha Excell so it should be OK with the Evinrude?
