Going to be doing some body work and some rattle can painting stuff on the back of the Vulture this weekend finally to get me by until I can get the whole boat painted and wondering what I should use to fill in the holes in the transom? I do have a little bit of duraglass and also some Marine-Tex Epoxy Putty here I can use. All suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Just installed my transom and it looks similar to yours now with plugged holes and patches, etc on the back side.
I am going to clean, sand and make it flat, then a layer of glass over it. Then get it prepped and ready for when the boat gets painted.

This picture was a practice fit with clamps in place before it actually got glassed in.

Sadly, no. I haven't even touched it yet this year. Some unexpected things have come up with having to move and stuff so it hasn't been a priority at the moment. But work will get done soon hopefully. Just have a bunch of other stuff on my plate at the moment that comes first.

Use nylon dowel rod to plug the holes. Wood dowel soak up moisture and will pop out the repairs after it expands.

So am I able to pull out everything like core and stringers all at once ? I been told that it could make the boat crooked? But idk if that is true I was told to do it like 3 ft at a time if that makes sense.

If you separate the hull and deck and dont support it good, like in a jig, things can get outta shape other than that, rip it all out at once. Doing it 4 feet at a time is totally pointless cause you need the hull as clean as possible for the new glass/core to bond to it and plus it would take 4 times as long to get it done. Go back and look at my pics. Everything, floor, core, stringers, transom, all out at once! Support the hull properly and you wont have anything to worry about. I did all mine on the trailer, the first time around. LoL Just make sure you toss a few extra bunks under the boat (on the trailer) for support and go to town.

Mine is 3 layers of 1/2 marine ply (to get the 1 1/2 thickness of the original transom) with thickened resin in between each layer then covered with 1708 mat. No glue!!!!! Do not use any glue when rebuilding. Some guys use two layers of 3/4 inch marine ply. Which ever you prefer I guess.
