That's why we have it nice up here. I like to grind once the temp is below zero, lots of layers of clothes pluss a tyvec suit.

I went a different route. I also did it when it was cold but I chipped it out one wine core at a time. It was slow but I only had to run a thin sanding over it at the end. That's why I'm over a year on it but kept the dust and itch to a minimum. Bill

I did my first day of grinding with no protection and like you was miserable afterwards. That fiberglass dust is no joke, not only make you itch but can cause serious health problems. Lowes has everything you need. cheap dust masks don't cut it either must get a good resperator and gogles along with the tyvek suit. I tried both the tyvek and off brand , the real tyvek is much better and costs 10 bucks, a good resperator was a little pricy at 26 bucks but worth every penny. I were glasses and didn,t find gogles that i could wear with my glasses.

the tyves suit woorked great, till i hit my knee with the grinder. got most of the starboard core sanded out and feathered. will have the port side done tommorrow. there it a thick layer of thickened resin fillilg in where both sides if the hull meet in the middle. you might see it im my new pics. i guess ill have to chip it out and sand the rest down?
thanks for the help mike

Looking good. I did the same thing last time too. Just moved a tiny bit and not paying attention as well as I should have and right through the tyvek suit and then my jeans and left a good mark on the knee. I was alright and it hardly bled at all so I keep on grinding. :D

If it's good and solid you could leave the resin in the bow, if not chip and grind is the fastest way.

I hit my knee last year working on Kevin's vulture but it would't stop bleeding so I had to get 7 stitches. Duct tape the suit **** and it's good as new.

You make me feel bad when you say that. LoL :( I know I didnt get blood like you but it still hurt like crazy. Wasnt so bad till I got home then it started to really sting. Dont know if it was dust that finally got in the cut or not but it sucked. lol
