chet, it looked like you used a vacum bag on your "not the avrage recore". it this difficult? i have a 5cfm vacume pump for evacuating a/c systems before recharge. it has no problem pulling -30hg. just wondering about the process. if it is something i can use on my viper? thanks, mike

I do the same type of work and had the same thought you are having but didn't wont to take a chance of contaminating my pump or hurting it. Not sure it would but not worth the chance to me.

hey guys, got the inside of the hull completey ground down. i cant belive all of the cracks and holes. im trying to come up with a platform to set the hull on so i can start with the hull streight and flat before i start any repairs. any ideas? i dont even like getting in it any more, because the hull is so thin. in the mean time im going to start on the transom. anybody got any pics of how much of the splash well i have to cut out? or should i wait untill i get the hull properly supported before i take the transom out? the trailer it is sitting on dont offer much suport. thanks, mike

There are a couple ways I have heard of to keep the bottom straight. Some build a jig out of wood. did my viper on the trailer but it had 6 bunks and sat straight on it. I hung my vking from the ceiling and was real careful doing the sides.

My vector is still sitting on the jig I built. Your welcome to it,but it will be a few weeks befor I can put it back on the trailer. Mine is built for an early vector(no hook). I don't know if it will work on your later hull or not.

I supported mine at the outside edges of the pad with 2 x 4's cut to match the wedge. I held a board against the pad and marked and cut to fit .Then cut the second board rhe same. I began leveling at the transom between the boardsfinishing at the leading egde of pad. Then I supported the hull at the strake where my floor rests using the same method. It took a little time using levels from a torpedo to a 6 foot framing level. After i finished with the hull i checked the topside to see how it looked and found the deck was perfectly level also

Mike, I've got my boat off of the jig and your welcome to it. It may not work on your boat, but it would be worth a try.

Let me know,Brian
