Re: VULTURE recore
I did mine like the original. Bulkheads over core. I also did move my bulkhead by the drivers seat back a couple inches for a pinch more leg room. Moved the front one forward a few inches also. Bill
Re: VULTURE recore
Hi Guys, I got some more work done on the boat. I need to know if anybody can tell me how many inches is the front floor lower than the main floor on the vulture. I did move the bulkhead back a few inches, now I am ready to glass in the front floor, just not sure how low to put it. I also think I put to much balsa up front. I will post some pic. tomorrow.

Re: VULTURE recore
mines 4 inches lower. I just made a piece of ab marine plywood that fit on top of the glassed in balsa that went from bulkhead to bulkhead and then glassed that in with some cabisol on the sides and another layer of glass over it all for a smooth transition. Bill

Re: VULTURE recore
Thats kind of what I plan on doing also. Just make a small piece for between the bulkheads so there is a small flat surface there. I am also doing away with the airbox up under the bow. Means more secure storage for things like life jackets and stuff too so they dont fly out..VultureNo2 wrote:mines 4 inches lower. Re: VULTURE recore
Nope.
I had a few things come up that I was forced to dip into just about my entire boat fund. Hopefully in about 3 weeks or so I will have all the glass work pretty much done though so I can send it off to a frined and he can straighten out the bottom and put some paint on the bottom. It will be on the water this year! lol

Re: VULTURE recore
Thanks Guys, thats about were I was going to put mine 4" down. 2 questions 1) were do you guys mount the gas pedal, do you glass a piece of wood on the right side or do you mount it on the lower floor in the middle and use your left foot? 2) When I am done putting the floor in I want to flip the boat over and sand whats left of the bottom paint off the boat and fix all the little nick's and gouges in the bottom, any ideas on how I can do that. Do I just grind a little around the chips and fill with fiberglass, and how do I get the very rear part of the pad so it has a sharp 90* edeg to it again. Now it is kinda rounded. I know I said 2 ques. but while I am doing the bottom whats the best way to take any hook out??
Re: VULTURE recore
Here are some pic. of were I am at now. I started the core in the back and was working my way foward, then I realized I would have to get under the deck with a bulkhead in the way so stoped and started up under the deck and then ran out of core. I did have enough to finish up front and glass it over with 1708, also putting in the 2 bulkheads. The rear part is set in place but not glassed over yet, I am waiting for the rest of the core to get here so I can glass it all at the same time. The floor has been cut but needs some minor sanding to get it the way It needs to be.
