I suspect that water will be pressured out of those holes at speed. I've never seen that before. Possibly, they first closed up the upper holes and later added the cone but didn't close the remaining holes. :thinking:

Anyone else?

If you have a low water pickup you are going to want to plug all of the original water pick ups on the lower. Could also cause it to pull air also possibly. You could try it as is but keep a real close eye on your water pressure and temp.

Will probably cover up the top holes. that will simplify using a hose at home when running the motor. Wondering about water pump kits and thermostats? where is a good place to buy? anything else I should know? Is there an easy way to rig up new controls to it?

So I've been a little busy... Haven't done all the wiring at all.. But its running! Really light and very fast for a 150.. Needs solid mounts and a jackplate.. Also need to invest in some nice gauges
