I finally had some time to spend with the boat. I started exploring by removing the floor under the dash and discovered very wet balsa. No surprise!

I finally had some free time so I decided to take a run at the floor. I removed most of the floor except the section directly on top of the stringers. Image
I discovered that the stringers appear to be made of only fibreglass. There isn't any wood - as far as I can see. The stringers are basically "L" shaped fibreglass.

That is a box stringer, cut off and remove the core in the pad area.
