Wow! You are energized bud. Just got the thing and the work has already begun. My hat goes off to you sir. My project is wrapped outside probably for a year or two before I begin. Sounds like you are just like me. Had a cottage on Lake of Bays in the late 80's. There was a guy down the road with one. I knew I had to have one when I got older. Almost 30 yrs later, I finally got one! Sad to see the transom. Had a feeling would be bad. The guy told me the previous owner did that as he had a heavy *** 225 OMC on it and needed more strength. LOL, me thinks he needed a non rotten transom! Anyways, glad you got it and it's in good hands. I will be watching your resto. Cheers.

Thanks Shawn. I'm not sure if I'm energized, but I can tell you I'm very anxious to get this thing back to it's former glory. Aside from the transom, it has plenty of potential. Everything on a fiberglass boat can be repaired according to the experts I have spoken to. We will see. I have to say that probably the biggest reason I have for buying this boat is simply to "relive" my youth. Already this boat has brought back so many memories of my days going to the cottage on Rice Lake during the 80s. For one reason or another - live in general - it has taken me 30 plus years to finally get one and I couldn't be happier. As strange as this sounds, this boat could sit in my garage forever and I'd still be glad I have it. I assure you it won't just sit there though.
It is certainly my intention to restore her and enjoy it for MANY years to come. My 8 year old says he wants it when he's old enough. I think that sounds like a plan.

Awesome! I agree with everything you said my friend. I'm so happy these boats are still out there. To this day I still think these boats are the sexiest lake boats out there. I was grinning ear to ear while I trailered her home. Cheers!

Hey guys. I've got a question about engines. I have an opportunity to buy a 1999 Optimax 200 but it's a 25 inch. Is this too long for a hydrostream vulture? Any feedback would be great.
