So I cut a 4 inch hole into the floor under where the rear seat would have been, just to the starboard side of the stringer. I can see the core and glass work. It is a light brown colour and very dry. I was expecting it to be wet and black in colour. Is there any chance the core is ok? I'm thinking the entire floor needs to be removed to really know the condition of the core. ???????

Hey guys. I know this question has probably been asked a thousand times, so forgive me if this is getting old. I was wondering what I can use as a rub rail since mine is completely pooched? I'm a long way from installing it, but I'd like to start acquiring parts sooner than later. Also, my windshield came off in one piece, but I noticed that the top rail has a slight bend from people leaning on it. Can someone give me an idea of how to straighten the rail? Is there a replacement for the actual plexiglass windshield? Questions questions questions. Sorry boys.

I cleaned her up - for something to do. Looks good from a distance. I absolutely love this colour combination!!!!

I decided to take apart the seats today. Wow were they ever wet! The plywood bases were so rotten, they felt like mud. They smelled bad! At least the fibreglass frames are in great shape.

As for straightening it, you could try some heat and what not but inside that curved rail is a solid insert so they are pretty tough to get back straight. As for the windshield, John up at Hydrostream in Canada sells them but they are like $700 by the time they get to your door here in the US. Scott Steffe (AFR) does make a VERY nice fiberglass reproduction one and he is down in Florida. A few guys on here have bought them from him. If you are on Facebook you can look Scott up otherwise his web site

Here is a pic of one of his windshields. Not the greatest pic but only one I have off hand...
