Yea I thought it was gonna tip as soon as I pulled the bolts and I got no help so it might have smashed the back of my boat or worse. Me  . That looks so much better . as soon as that's off let the itching begin

I also left the battery hooked up so whenever I went to pull the motor off I could play with the tilt n trim so it came off with ease. Then just unhooked the electronics and pulled the boat away. It worked out really good. And ohh yea the itching will start quickly after that! I just finished getting about 90% of my core out today. What materials are you planning on using?

I am going with the balsa core and 1/2 marine ply for the transom and stringers I haven't looked at the glass much yet. I still need to find a good supplier for the glass and resin. I was reading up on that still. Also I am going to build seat boxes.

Mertons is a good place to look. My boat the second time around was built with pretty much all of their stuff.

http://www.mertons.com/

Also, Express Composites here in Minneapolis. Great guys to work with. A good number of members here, myself included, have ordered from here. Well, I didnt really order anything, I went down and picked it all up personally. :) lol

I think thats what I used on my Vulture was 8 sheets or 2'x4'. I can't remember off hand. And the Vulture is two feet longer than the VKing. I had 2 sheets down each side of the stringers, used one sheet for in the center of the stringers and 2 or 3 sheets from the stringers forward.

Not the best pics but all I got at the moment. This was from when I did the first recore about 5 years ago that had to be redone but it gives you an idea. Its not down all the way up under the bow in these pics yet. But like I said, I used like 7-8 sheets on my Vulture and that is 20 feet long so I would imaging you could get away with 1-2 sheets less in a VKing.

The core will look pretty much the same in the VKing as this. The Vectors and Vipers are different and go all the way up the sides.

Hope that helps some.
