Weekend November 25/26th, 2017:

The dusty itchy work begins.
I finished removing the core from the pad, trimmed down the leftover sections of the keelbox, and the bits and pieces of transom left along the edges.





Using a 36 grit brazed cup wheel for my grinder, I got to work.




















That's pretty much it so far. I don't see the need to rush it.
On a side note, trying to grind woven-roving is a real PITA.

I sure remember that look! Looks like your making great progress. Get that skin clean and smooth to bed that new core into. Thanks for the update Adam!

Sunday December 10th, 2017:

Not much to update. Just been grinding grinding grinding. I have almost all of the bottom done - then have to do the transom and sides. Then the glasswork begins.









I came across 2 puncture holes in the pad.









My work will be on a 2 week shutdown for the holidays, so hopefully I'll have the grinding done by the end of this week and can then start laying the new glass, core, transom, and stringers when I'm off. Wife works retail so I'll have lots of alone time with my boat.

Good thing is, once it's ready to go back together, you can easily have it knocked out in a few days easy.

Looks awesome so far.

Possibly. The only concern after all the grinding is done is money. 2 week shutdown at work means 2 weeks with no paycheque ("paycheck" for those that don't understand Canadian). I have about $1200 set aside for materials. Hopefully I can stretch it far enough to get the bulk of the structural work completed. Our prices in Canada are a lot higher than in the States.
