Looking real good I like how you are installing the core to make sure it's fully bedded, I know it takes longer the way your doing it but knowing its secure makes all the difference. Did you ever go and get the motor at the bottom of the lake?

Thanks Vamit, I soak down the core and wet the hull as so when I push down on the core resin will seap out thru the scrims and edges so I think all gaps are filling. With the 2 layers of 1708 under the core and on top of the core I think I am building a tank. I have used 4 gallons of resin already. Next week I will pick up 4 more gallons.

As far as the engine no. I had some budies look for it but no go. I have another 115 inline that needs rebuilding but not sure what I will end up doing. I was offered a 200 mariner for 2500 but it has something like a 26 inch shaft and only 400 hours.

If you could get a short midsection for that 200 that would be sweet on the Vector, hopefully you'll find a good deal on a v6

Is 2500 a good price and how hard would it be to find a shorter mid and for how much?

Another trip to the supply house yesterday, 6 gallons of resin and another sheet of coosa, 400+ now puts material to 1300.

I am almost ready to put the floor down. I remember someone used a jig with a router to level stringers to floor register but don't remember who. Anybody have any suggestions? And what is the best way to adhere the floor to the registers?

I finished filling in the voids at the floor register and covered with 1708.

The floor is made of 1/2 inch coosa with 1708 on both sides.

Just take a straight plank and notch it a little wider than the stringers. Cut the length of the plank to fit in the floor register then go nuts with the router. Slide the jig u made back as u go. It was a mess.

Yep, same kinda thing. I had the slot open at the forward edge though. That way once the stringer is cut to height, just slid it to the next cut. My register was pretty straight though. Didn't need the moveable ends. :boating:

Thanks again for the ideas, being in the refrigeration buisness I came up with a jig out of scrap materials.

It worked great. I had some small spots where the stringers were barely short but not enough to worry about. I used a 18 inch x 3 inch belt sander to even out the register serface before routing the stringers. I soaked some strips of light weight glass to act like a sponge to hold the resin in place on the stringers and register.
