I used CSM to bond the core into the hull. The 1708 was laid and cured then sanded/preped, then the CSM and core was set.

Picked up a 2.4 for a sweet deal, it was for a buddy of mine who swapped to a 2.5. Only has around 50hrs on fresh chrome bores. 2.5 in the back is for a buddy of mine who is restoring a vector as well!

I put down a layer of 1708 and then a layer of 1.5oz CSM on mine.

All thats left to grind is under the front deck. After thats done ill go over everything with a DA sander with 36grit to even everything out then start laying 1708

I dont know about 1808 as I have never worked with it or used it but 1708 is what is commonly used to put down before the core. Well, some people just put a few layers of some CSM or 1708, or both. I have a layer of CSM in my boat with a layer of 1708 then the core. Also, I dont know how much resin the Vector will take but I blasted through almost 15 gallons on my Vulture.

Also, the folks at Express Composites are great people. For a long time a few of them were well aware of us here and they sold A TON of supplies to a lot of people in here. Thats where I got 75% of the stuff for my build. Living about 45 min away also helps too. lol

Yeah i have 2 gallons already here and ordered another 5 to get me going, when i see im running low ill order more, stuffs not cheap to get shipped! I couldn't find 1708 on express composites website so i went with the 1808 i guess i should have looked into it a little more before ordering. Ill shoot them a email today and see what they say!
