1978 v-king

Post: # 5917Post 77viper »

Well I did it again,I bought another stream. I will be building this one for our unlimited class 1/4 mile drags. It will be as light as possible with as much power as I can get out of a 2.5 merc. As you can see it needs some work but it's in better shape than my viper when I started with it so it should be a good base. I'm thinking of making a cowling for the inside to bring the sides in and just do 2 seats down the center.

Awesome Chet. You are my hero. The sad part is you will probably finish this one before I finish my first one. Bill

Part of me wants to bust this out quick but the other part says take your time and do some real custom stuf. I think it will be a year long project. But then again I already was out there with a flashlight and a skill saw removing the floor last night.

I need something to do otherwise I will end up sitting watching TV.

I talked to George at Nitrox and he was saying I could go with a 175 shot of nitrous then another 110 on a delay if I wanted to rily make it go boom. This one should be a little quicker than the viper.

So did you give the guy is asking price of 4 bills? I really wanted to go get this but I need to get the planter I have in my yard finished first. I have a plan for it, Just need to get it tore apart more.

If your not busy next weekend I will drag the vulture down there and take a day or 2 and see if we can get em both cleaned up.

I think next weekend will work, but will need to see for sure. I'll let you know latter in the week.

I bought the trailer from him too. The guy that sold it had worked at the factory from the late 80's till 91. I was hoping for some good info but we just talked about racing and other stuff. He did say that I couldn't build it under something like 700 lbs. We'll see about that.
