my 09 homebuilt ( stealth )

Post: # 6622Post 19'stealth2009 »

A lost title forced me to have to make 3 major modifications to this old Vector 1979 X drag boat ! Yet i am very pleased with the over all out come and almost completed project !

Still doing pressent modification , and mild altering

I modified and painted this boat , with anniversary silver matalic and jet black and topped all of it with 10 coats of clear also by Alexseal Yacht coatings .

This weekend , i am putting new stering system , thottle linkages , carbs are going to be gone thru , and finial touches to the wiring .

Been a fun job and this up coming summer is going to be a SCREAM !

My hope is at some point all of us can get together and burn up some rivers , please keep me in mind ! Image

Thanks for the comploment friend !
The trailer is made by load rite , it took me quite a few hrs to get it adjusted , but a good riding trailer !
If anyone would have the question , i do this work professionaly everyday as my living , fiberglass , painting , and modifications and this boat to get it to this point has taken me every bit of 400 hrs ... more than meets the eye in this hull .

Hey it was worth a try. :D

I'm thinking of doing something to the pad on my vking but I want to run it stock first so I know if I'm gaining or loosing.

This was my second test run with the boat after being altered , i was a little shaky , motor was set about inch and half below the pad with an 8 inch set back , stock lower unit . running about 65 and puchin the throttle to see how she was going to ride . [album][/album]Image

i've heard of blueprinting the hull
i was thinking of doing that to mine, concentrating more on the pad
i guess that's where you make the edges sharp instead of a radius
reduces water tension, supposedly makes the water come off the hull better

your boat looks awesome looks like a mini venom
i like the way the dash looks to be integrated into the windshield
if that's how it is ...pic is kinda far
once we get over 70 aerodynamics plays a huge part,
have u thought of a cowliing in front of the motor
might help if it's top speed you're after
i see a lot of the newer boats with'em
