Chopper prop

Post: # 5817Post RedDemon »

Looking for a 28p Chopper at a good price. If anyone knows where I can get one let me know. Running a 26 now and still cranking too many rpm's at top end. Thanks :boating:

I haven't heard of Hooter props. Tell me more about it. Any pics of it? SS, over the hub or through?

Yeah I'm running a 26 chopper prop now. I was just wondering about the Hooter prop. Is there anywhere I can get any info about that prop?

Yeah I still have the Hooter prop it has blades same shape as chopper prop from hub barrel out. It has relief holes and blows out to about only 3,500 RPMs on start. dbdanno@aol.com

Hooters were originally designed by Ted (Ithink) Pendergrass. He raced for OMC in the 70's- 80's as far as I know. I owned a 28 Hooter in the early 80's, and it was one of the best props I ever owned. If I could afford it I would buy it right now. The Hooter eventually was built by OMC for the masses. They called it the RAKER. I'm running a 28 Raker now on a Viking with 225 Rude. When you triple cup either of those props, from my experience they out perform a stock chopper. JMO.
