1979 hydrostream vulture - $3500

Post: # 9362Post Hippie459MN »

Looks like this is back up for sale again. Wish I could get it but not for that price. I think Bill (VultureNo2) spoke with the guy and something is wrong with the motor. I couldnt find the original post about it. I love the colors though big time.

I spkoe with Randy right before I bought my Vulture. He's a great guy. I asked him to take it to a mechanic for a once over and he did. The mechanic said that the motor was only around 60's to 70's on the cylinders. Top end I think was only in the mid 30's. The boat was in great shape, probably would have needed a transom in a few years, and who knows with the core. I offered him 2000 and he agreed at first, but then called back and backed out. Said the wife and kids wouldn't let him get rid of it for that. I decided to pass because I was looking for a Vulture with a motor capable of barefoot speeds and I didn't think that motor would get me there. The mechanic said it would be less to hang another motor on it than to rebuild that one. Hippie, if you get a chance to check it out, let us know what you find. Bill
