My Viper is on EBay

Caprice put the Viper on EBay lastnight on a 7 day listing. If anyrthing, we will see what the market is willing to pay for a boat like this. Reserve is set at $5500.00. We will GLADLY keep it if it doesn't meet reserve.

Caprice reminded me that sometimes "less is more" as far as description. Thats why we didn't get into detail on the rebuild. She said some buyers might shy away from a boat that has pictures of it all tore apart. If someone knows their 'Streams, and asks, we'll send them to the build links. (That's why she's the "brains" in the family)

kind of sad it didn't even reach half of the reserve. Makes you wonder what people really are paying for them. IMHO this comes in the same category as Bernie's

I believe he was asking 4250$, but then it did come with an outboard.

Agreed....unfortunately the reputation that Hydrostreams carry ( at least as far as the uneducated folk are concerned ) kinda tarnishes their value more times than not. I know theres no way in hell I'll ever break even on mine if I sell it (don't even ask what I have into it...its ridiculous) but I'd do it all over again if I found a nice original gel / original interior boat that needed some lovin'. I wish I could pick up that Boss Moss Vector Brian is selling on S&F right now but the wife said no more boats/cars/toys/etc until I get another garage built when I get home.

Ron, did I hear right that you clipped the century mark in the Viper once or twice???

Actually we're happy now. As soon as the auction ended, Caprice said," WHEW!!!" Now we have a boat for the summer visits.

Sonik, I never broke 100 with this boat. (on the build as a joke, I posted a pict of 102 mph on gps which was from my old Virage) After the first run, it was so light, it scared me. I built it to share the speed with Caprice. We had it to 88 and climbing when the gps battery died. Running a 28" ET at around 6000 rpm's.


We're flying out in a few hours to Seattle. The Virage arrives tomorrow am. I'll post a picture of it next to the Viper. We plan on taking the Viper out for a few runs on the river. We'll try and get some videos from the pass side.
