Re: Old Rides
That 64 looks like it could be fun. Must see more pictures.
Kind of always wanted a flat bottom v-drive/jet. Someday. I see em pop on craigs list cheap every now and then that are runners.

Re: Old Rides
1971 16ft Deckboat, !00 horse pushbutton electric shift Evinrude. Thirty one mph of family fun.
My father in law gave me this rig because... well because I didn't have a boat. Ugly but fun.

Re: '78 CVX20!
78 CVX20, Merc 225!
I wanted to think this boat was HOT, but my wife insisted it was only warm.
These things are also known for rotten wood. When I got it , the transom had already been replaced. We replaced the floor, but looking back, I'll bet the core & stringers were bad too.
We also put in a new interior & redid the trailer. ...great ski boat for an outboard.
I loved the lines of this old boat, and the windshield was a great design.
(Hey, King, show us that V-king I saw on S&F.)

Re: Old Rides
Well this is the last one. I still have this boat. It's a '92 Flightcraft by Malibu...sexy looks and pulls like a tractor.
By the way, I need a piece of plastic rub rail channel (about 2 ft. long) for a small repair. 77Viper, do you or anyone else know where I might get a section of this? Thanks

Re: Old Rides
I'll look tomorrow, I know we have some aluminum but will look for plastic. I'm finishing my solid motor mounts and trim pump rebuild.
I went to buy a barefoot flightcraft this spring and the owner shot himself in the foot telling me about how he would just fill the hull with water instead of ballist tanks. Man I wanted that boat I love the lines and with a nice 200 or bigger etec it would pull nice.

Re: Old Rides
Ya, the outboards are way cool...plenty of room inside without the v8 in the center. They float higher too.

Re: Old Rides
I like the low and mean look of the inboard, but I would hit too much stuff with the prop. I just did a Mastercraft that bent all 3 stabilizer fins, driveshaft, support, and rudder. He said it was his wife driving it cost close to 10 grand with fiberglass repair.

Re: Old Rides
A couple of the v-drive
This thing weighs a ton and needs some major work. I think it will be going away soon.
