Suggestions!!! Racing Little Boats

Post: # 13818Post smiles »

I really don't know much at all about this stuff, and I'm looking at doing some boat racing with some friends and possibly joining tcpba vp 75 class. Which restrict motor to 49.9 ci, and minimum 13'(or do they still have a 75 ci motor class?) boat. Does anyone have any experience with different boats? Looking at a voodoo, vixen, rapid craft cyclone, winrace, and open to suggestions? how do they handle, is one faster than the next, or all about the same.. :boating: . What about the motors? Info on boat and motor suggestions, please? thanks :boating: :boating:

My suggestion would be to come race with us in the UMPBA, only because I'm in the club. I have no knowledge of how the tcpba runs it's classes. One nice thing about our club is that the classes are set up by your speed alone so every boat motor combo will fit in a class from 65mph up to 115.

TCPBA is circle racing.

There is going to be a bunch of boats coming up for sale at auction that fit the 70-75 class. I will post when I know more.

Ok, since I found this on the site, I'll put it on here and S&F. Howard told me about this a couple months ago, but I did not want to post till it was on line.

Smith Auctions. Know them really well. Steve Smith used to live behind us and run and own Lakeside Cabinets but sold the business when he moved. He ran the cabinet shop from his house. He is also did all of the custom cabinets in my moms house. Also owns (Or did at least, not sure if its still there) an Amish furniture store, and a few other things along with Smith Auctions.

Hey,
If you know the Smiths, maybe a call to them would be a big help to Howard. They really have a pretty crappy description of the stuff and no pictures. I mean "many surprises"?? How about no surprises, you list the sh!t so you can attract buyers.. There are guys from all over the country that would be interested in the boat molds, but really, how about a little more info? Are they for dinghys or the V-king?? Pictures would help a ton.

I was gonna call them on Monday because I thought they were kind of doing a disservice by having such little exposure.

This auction should be on Craigslist with "hydrostream" in the tag line..
