I made a rotisserie for the Virage and cut down the transom for a 15" motor. Took out the splash well and made a mold for the new design rear deck.

Saving pictures for a full write up when done.

Very cool Ron! Just a question, why go through the trouble of cutting down the transom on something that easily handles a 20" motor? I could see an advantage on a smaller boat to lower the motor's cg, but why in this case?

I am running a 15" motor.
Alby Pine has the same setup with a standard height transom and has no reported problems.
Aaron Wacholz (Black boat pictured) wanted his cut down.

I decided to cut mine down because I liked the look of Aarons. Those extra lines in the back add a lot of strength and some "texture" to an otherwise flat rear deck.

Look at the rigging hoses in this pict. I think if you wanted to be able to trim up without jacking the motor up all the way, you would kink your cables...

Makes sense if you already have a 15" motor for sure. I get the strength reasoning too. I have yet to see one of these hulls in person. There's one in Ottawa I hope to see next year, these are my favourite 'streams.

That boat of Aarons looks amazing! That flat black just has mean written all over it. Hope he leaves it that way.

Kevin,...Aaron is leaving it that color.

I LOVE it!!!!!

My Virage is in our Washington shop so I only work on it when were down "in the states".
I have several projects in our Alaska shop. Right now I'm turning a free '97 Toyota 4 runner into a econo Artic truck.

Sculpting foam for a large hood scoop, moon visor, and massive fender flares. Also salvaged some 1/8" steel for an econo Road Rhino front bumper.
