My very 1st stream!!

Found this the day after Father's Day I just could not resist! It's a 1977 vector that is not perfect, but I can drop it in the water and take the whole family out. Needs a new interior. And a little bit of work on the winch hook on the bow. I have a lot of parts I've been gathering over the years. I have a jack plate, Ron hill chopper prop, and other odds and ends.

Anyone in Maine in love with these boats like me? I'm looking for more enthusiasts!

Very nice! I have to ask, has the core and transom been replaced in it? If not, I would get that replaced asap, especially if you plan to go fast and haul the family around at a high rate of speed.

Yes! Was so glad to pick the previous owners brain. It has been all redone inside. Transom, floor, stringers, paint (but paint is tired again). My first mod will be my TH marine manual jack plate. 5 inch set back if I remember. Right now I trim up to point of proposing.

But was the core replaced? The core is A LOT different then the floor and is the main structure of the hull.

On a vector, I wouldnt go much more then 4 inches of set back. That seems to be the sweet spot on them hulls. Im guessing the motor is bolted right to the transom?

Yes. It was stripped down from the owner before the guy I bought it from. Completely redone to the bottom. Part that sucks is the previous guy removed all the go fast goodies. Foot pedal, jack plate, trim on wheel. Gotta find all of it....

Yes, it has a small evenrude 115 bolted to transom. Not a big OMC fan, but do kinda like the etec's. Also has a crappy 19 inch aluminum prop. (Also came with a more useless 17 inch).

I am going to sacrifice speed by keeping a comfy interior, so the family can go. And plan on putting lots of money into it. May even get another stream at some point, keeping this one. There are some old timers running vipers with built 250 merc's on Webb lake in weld Maine. Unfortunately, they are dying off...

I'll go measure the plate. Could be 4' . I didn't know that was the sweet spot.

Exactly why I'm here!

:boating: this time, took the family to lake topsham, in oxford Maine. Way to choppy in the middle, but fun running up on plane in the coves. Didn't spend too much time doing head way speed, but really seeing the extreme demand for a jack plate.... :geek:

One of those crazy lakes that even flat bottom boats will destroy their lower units if not careful
