I think we have a Capt Insane-O incognito here. Well from the conversations I've had with 'the man', while the gel may be in really good shape, the rest of the boat as far as original layup couldn't have been worse.....rot in the pad and along the floor register, what was good was horribly dry, and would most certainly have been dangerous @ 80mph in the wrong conditions which it undoubtedly would have seen at some point. So I guess I'm thankful that I was in that very spot and shifted my weight on my knee when I did while installing the new dual rack because I might have never known until something bad happened. I do know that the man laying the new stuff in is on his game and won't let it roll out of his shop with his name on it unless its right, and for that I'm forever appreciative. It'll be tight getting the bulkhead, seatbox, and rigging back in it by the 13th of June but I can't wait to hear what a solid, dry hull sounds like on the first shakedown run.

P.S. A certain individual who sold me the XR2 just took a clean 2.4 200 back into his inventory.....imagine the possibilities

Pete,

One of these years I'll have to just hit an event up your way so you can prove your apricot boat will run by my apricot boat

Wish the non-event wasn't the same weekend as my Illinois run or i'd consider trailering the 1000 miles to waste some fuel with ya!

There may be an event in late Sept in Pennsylvania that I might attend, would save you about 300 miles.
