Hey everyone. Picked this up today for $2500. I cant wait to take it out tomorrow. The guy I bought it from says its a 200hp 2 stroke Black maxx engine.
Does that sound right? Also, the topside is pretty rough. What do you all recomend I do to fix that? I was thinking using resin to fill the minor cracks and so on. then sanding
and painting the topside? I added up all the materials to about $140. does that sound like the best idea? thanks.
Wondering how to post images or maybe change your avatar or maybe something else?

Welcome to the forum.
The motor cowl looks to be a mid 80's 2.4 liter 200. Great motors.
If there are cracks in the gel you will need to grind them out and repair with resin and fiberglass or else they will come right back.
Feel free to ask any questions and we will do our best to answer them but I'm in the middle of 5 things right now and have to keep it short.

#1.....be careful. People that have not driven these boats before can be dangerous. Dont go faster than your skills allow. If you have never had one, its not like driving normal boats.

+1 couldnt agree more, its definitely a 2.4 engine. but without a bobs lower unit be very careful at higher speeds
78 vector, 2.4 200, 2-1 lower unit with bobs nose cone.

Welcome More pics of top you would be suprised at what 3 passes of wet sanding and some clear well do . Your boat looks like you can save the original gel coat and the silver and blue is very popular .Just remember Im talking very fine grit sand paper and light wesanding .Take alook at the thread 85 voyager new purchase this boat was saved from the hot O.k sun but worth it . . Oh yeah forgot where are cracks ?Im geussing right behind upperwindshield mount where it mounts to the boat on the sides .I"m doing a Vector that has same issue so watch for postson how we fix it . Im told by my glass guy the crack are from people getting in and out of the boat and very hard to get rid of and keep them gone .Gota get out of the boat sometime
