hi guys, im a newbie to boating and will need some help from you guys on my current projects (hope you dont mind) i may post some questions on here as i get into restoring a 76 vector.

I posted some pix of my current projects, i have a 17' starbuck with a merc 1150 and a 17' hydrostream vector with no motor. I found both of these boats in a barn this summer and i already rebuilt the carbs and got the merc up and running. My plan is to pull that motor off of the starbuck and put it on the hydro once i get a floor put in again. I just finished pulling the floor now i will start building it up again.

thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum, feel free to ask away.

I hate to ask this on your first post but..... did you replace the core when you had your floor out?

Forgive me if i dont know what im talking about.

If i understand correctly the core is the balsa wood type stuff right? if so yes i scraped all of it out it was wet and would pretty much crumble.
I havent gotten to that point yet of laying new core down, i just cleaned it all out vacuumed it up now i need to learn how to fiberglass ect...

any info in this would be greatly appreciated. I need to know where to purchase the bulsa wood and what fiberglass pad to purchase.

thanks

I would agree with Express Composites also. Great bunch of people and when you call, Tell em you heard about em from the forum here. They will go from treating you like a rock star to royalty rock star. ;)

They will answer just about any question you have and if they dont, they will find someone that will.

Look in my signature for the link to my recore job in progress. Hopefully next weekend ( ;) wink wink ) I can have some stringers and core in my boat.
